Lloyd grew up on the South Side of Chicago, eating homemade bagels from his family’s famous recipe. Bagels weren’t just breakfast—they were tradition, kneaded into every Sunday morning. Devin was raised around her Bubbe’s bagel brunches, where lox, schmear, and a little too much family conversation were non-negotiable.

They met in downtown Chicago, fell in love, and eventually moved to Des Moines to start their own bagel company—built on Lloyd’s family recipe and Devin’s pushy Jewish charm.

Black Bagel is the perfect blend of old-school craftsmanship, deep Chicago roots, and a whole lot of love. Hand-rolled, small batch, and made fresh every time.
